Nakisha Hobbs earned her bachelor’s degree in sociology and African American Studies at UIC (2001) and currently serves as Principal of the Village Leadership Academy (VLA) in Chicago. In fact, Nakisha is the co-founder of VLA and the founder of It Takes A Village Early Learning Centers. She talked with graduating senior, Jocelyn Diaz, about why she started these schools, the influence sociology has had on her career, and more! Nakisha is our seventh featured alumnus/a in our new 30 in 30 series!
