Maria Krysan

I’m currently working with

the 2nd year cohort, Amanda Lewis, and Tyrone Forman on a multi-methods study examining how Chicago residents explain racial inequality.

I recently published

A book! Cycle of Segregation: Social Processes and Residential Stratification (with Kyle Crowder, University of Washington)

I recently received

awards for said book, including the ASA Section on Racial and Ethnic Minorities’ Oliver Cromwell Cox book award for anti-racist scholarship, the Community and Urban Sociology section’s Robert E. Park award for best book and an Honorable Mention for the Outstanding Contribution to Scholarship Book Award from ASA’s section on Race, Gender and Class

Over the summer, I….

Went on an adventure in Thailand with my 11-year-old daughter
