Emoonah McClerklin, sociology undergraduate, wins first place in the ISA student paper competition

Emoonah McClerklin, an undergraduate double-majoring in sociology and psychology, was awarded first place in the Illinois Sociological Association undergraduate paper award competition for her paper, “The Institutions of Race and Sexuality on #Blackout.” The paper is a social media analysis that Emoonah wrote in Lain Mathers’ SOC 105 class last fall, and Emoonah is currently Lain Mathers’ research assistant.
